CNN’s Newest Show Already Hosting Hate Group Leader

January 13, 2012 3:04 pm ET by Carlos Maza

On Wednesday, Equality Matters predicted that CNN would be tempted to invite Tony Perkins – president of the anti-gay hate group Family Research Council (FRC) – on air to talk about an upcoming meeting of conservative Christian leaders in Texas.

Sadly, that prediction turned out to be correct.

On Friday, Perkins was interviewed on Starting Point, one of CNN’s two new morning shows, to discuss what impact the meeting would have on the GOP presidential primary:

Less than two weeks into the new year, Perkins has already appeared the three main cable news networks including two appearances on MSNBC.

In December, an Equality Matters report found that CNN hosted the hate group leader less frequently than Fox News and MSNBC. Will that change in 2012?
