WND: LGBT Movement Is A "Trojan Horse For Totalitarianism"

Right-wing website WND thinks the fight for LGBT equality has nothing to do with social recognition and equal protection under the law. Instead, WND proclaims, the LGBT movement is really a sinister "Trojan Horse for totalitarianism."
The October issue of WND's Whistleblower magazine - previewed on WND.com on October 19 - examines the "The New Sexual Revolution," thanks to which "a new totalitarian order is sweeping the land."
This "new" totalitarian society is not marked by one-party rule, military crackdowns, and secret police. Instead, WND argues, a contemporary form of totalitarianism is evident in things like the banning of discredited ex-gay therapy for minors, the implementation of anti-discrimination policies, and laws guaranteeing the rights of transgender students to use facilities that match their gender identity. And don't forget the "forced integration" of gays into the military or the "imposition on the nation" of marriage equality:
Parts of this burgeoning totalitarianism are already evident - like legislation that flat-out prohibits counseling help for minors who want to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions; the prosecution and criminalization of ever-larger numbers of Christian businesspeople for simply declining to promote homosexuality on moral and religious grounds; the new California law decreeing that boys must be allowed to use girls' restrooms and locker rooms if they identify with the opposite sex, and vice versa; forced integration of open homosexuals into the miitary; and the imposition on the nation of homosexual marriage.
Featured contributors to Whistleblower's issue on the new totalitarianism include hate group leader Scott Lively, the self-proclaimed inspiration for Russia's draconian crackdown on LGBT people and alleged collaborator in the crafting of Ugandan legislation making homosexuality punishable by death. Contributor Peter LaBarbera, president of the anti-gay hate group Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), opines on "how 'homosexual rights' are destroying freedom of conscience in America." But perhaps the most apocalyptic take is that of Liberty Counsel's Matt Barber, whose essay "America's fall: The modern-day Roman Empire" predicts civilizational collapse as a result of LGBT rights.
In depicting the LGBT movement as a stealth vehicle for totalitarianism, WND manages a right-wing twofer, doubling down on the extreme fringe's obsession with conspiracy theories and, in a spectacular Orwellian feat, portraying a movement focused on securing basic civil rights as a grave threat to fundamental liberties, if not civilization itself.
